Nice to Meet You Again
Chairman Kim stared at Eun Tak weirdly. Who was this girl that the lead representative asked him specially to sign these contract papers? This girl didn't even know the man’s phone number. But he was a Goblin. It was stupid for a mere human being to guess what was going inside that man’s head.
“If you give me your phone number, I’ll pass it on.”
“Oh, thank you. I’m sorry but what is that man’s name?” Eun Tak laughed meekly as the weird face came back onto the Chairman’s face. “This is a bit awkward.”
“Everything is awkward when it comes to him. The man is from the Yoo family, and his name is Shin Jae.”
Yoo Shin Jae. Eun Tak muttered the name under her breath. She had never heard such a name before, but for some reason it stuck to her tongue. Once she managed to get out of the Chairman’s room, she let out the air she had been holding in for a while. Things were starting to move in strange ways. It was something that happened to people who were having hard times. It was something like a miracle.

For the time being, Eun Tak’s radio staff didn’t have to worry about commercials or sponsors. They welcomed her back into the office with cheers and shouts. If yesterday had been a day where everything had not gone her way, today was a day when everything did. They had started a new ‘Finding Lost Memories’ thing, helping two people who had lost contact be in touch again, and everything had run smoothly. The DJ read out the emails their readers had sent on the radio, and got the phone running with them and the person they wanted to contact on the spot.
There was someone Eun Tak wanted to find too. Her first love. She had a first love too, a love that had been shredded like a piece of paper scattered in the wind. There wasn’t a thing she could remember about the person. It had been a while since she had gotten the notebook out of her shelf. It was the notebook she had used when she had been a student. There were traces of marks from where it had gotten wet, and she could feel soft creases forming on the dry paper. There was a memo on one of the pages that she was certain she had written herself, but she couldn’t remember anything else. There was also a scorch mark in her poem book that she didn’t know anything about. It was a memo that seemed to know that she wouldn’t remember anything about it.
Remember him.
She wanted to remember someone desperately.
The man’s name is Shin Kim.
He is tall, and his smile is sad.
He will come as rain; he will come as the first snow. He will keep his promise.
Shin Kim. Her heart shook just by reading the name. It was probably the name of her first love. Her heart throbbed at the thought of someone who did not exist in her memory. Everything seemed to be connected, the rain, the snow, the sorrow, and the memo.
Remember him. You are that man’s bride.
“Who is he… Why am I his bride? Who is that man?”
Who was he to make her hurt this bad? Eun Tak resented whoever it was; she hated anything to do with him. He had hurt her and still was.

The Goblin looked at a letter that was sitting on the table. Duk Hwa had left it for him saying that it had come to the mailbox of the first floor of his building. The sender was Eun Tak Ji and the receiver was Yeon Hee Ji. For what reason he didn’t know, Duk Hwa didn’t have the heart to throw it away so he had given it to his uncle.
The place the letter had come from was his hotel in Canada and that confused the Goblin. But soon he figured that the place she had been before running towards him on the zebra crossing was his hotel. He was curious about what 19-year-old Eun Tak had written to her dead mother, but he decided not to open it. It wasn’t his to open.
Fate was quite a strange thing, and so he knew that it was best that the woman who used to rent the first floor of that building give the letter to Eun Tak. The Goblin handed the letter over to the grim reaper, and the reaper took it carefully and gratefully. It was the first excuse he had been given in 9 years.

The grim reaper waited patiently at the café for Sunny. He had been to her shop several times, but Sunny had never come to work. In the end, he gave the part timer his phone number and left. That was how, for the first time in 9 years, he had gotten a call from her.
The woman walked through the café doors and sat in front of him without a second thought, and at the same time a tear dropped from the grim reaper’s eyes. Quickly he wiped it off with the cuff of his shirt but he knew that the woman had already seen it. He faced forward and looked her in the eyes.
“Why aren’t you surprised?”
“Excuse me?”
“I just suddenly came to you and sat down, but why aren’t you surprised? Do you know who I am? I think your eyes are telling me that you do.”
The grim reaper quickly shook his head. Sunny beckoned for him to hand over the letter and he gave it to her without thinking.
“Why are you crying? Are you crying because of me? I’ve seen a few people mesmerised, but I haven’t seen anyone cry.”
“Sorry. You reminded me of someone.”
“I’m not a face that you can see that commonly but I’ll accept it. What’s your name?”
This time, he had a name that he could tell her, but for some reason he didn’t want to tell her.
“Yeo Wang.”
“That’s a cool name. Sounds like a name a king would use. My name is Sunny.”
He nodded. She obviously couldn’t remember anything. The only person who would get hurt by his name was himself. And it still did hurt. Sunny looked at the pale man and smiled slightly.
“I’ve been wanting to meet you.”
The grim reaper cocked his head slightly at her words.
“I watched the shop’s security camera, and you were quite handsome. You look better on screen.”
He smiled along with her.
After placing the letter in her bag, Sunny left the café after greeting him once more, and the grim reaper aimlessly watched her walk down the street.
The strength in her footsteps started to weaken and Sunny stopped walking. Sadness was overflowing inside of her. She wanted to see the man’s man for a bit longer, but she was scared that he would see her cry.
“It was nice to meet you again, Woo Bin.”
Her quiet voice was filled with sorrow.
