The Woman Who Loved the King
Eun Tak decided to stay at Sunny’s house instead of Duk Hwa’s. Sunny was a bit ill because of the sudden changes in life, and Eun Tak was worried. Of course, she was worried about the Goblin, but it looked like that he needed a bit of space and time,
“Where’s Shin?”
“He came out of the house with me.”
“Then what about him?”
“I think he will be at home.”
The reason the Goblin didn’t kick out the grim reaper, and came out himself, was for the grim reaper. To the Goblin, it was the most he could do for the grim reaper.
“So he’s alive.”
“He wasn’t alive to start with.”
Sunny laughed a little at Eun Tak’s effort to lighten the pressure of the atmosphere. Sitting on the floor, leaning on the bed, they laughed lightly with each other. Eun Tak felt more sorry, for she knew what a bright person Sunny actually was, and it was sad seeing her manager sit next to her with no strength in her body.
“But how did you remember your past life?”
Eun Tak’s question made Sunny remember the kiss in front of her house.
“In a sexy way.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, we should have a drink. Do you want soju? Beer?”
The tinkling of soju hitting the glass filled the room.
“...I’ve thought about it, but I think I’m on my 4th life.”
“Why?”
“Well, because I already know 2 of my lives, and because I’ve met my brother and lover in this life. What life do you think you are on?”
Eun Tak had never thought about it before; what life was she on? She wished it was her first life.
“I want this life to be my first.”
If this life was her first, she wanted to meet him again in her second, third, and fourth life. He was very sad and pained now, but she hoped that when she was reincarnated, the Goblin would be happier.

Inside the busy chicken shop, Joong Heon watched Sunny working busily. The reincarnation of Sun Kim, he was planning to kill her too in this life. The glare of Joong Heon got blocked by a silhouette. It was the grim reaper, wearing the black hat on his head. There was black smoke around him, and the grim reaper’s eyes were dark and cold.
“Missing soul.”
The grim reaper teleported closer to Joong Heon. They were familiar with each other’s face, Joong Heon was one of the two missing souls the grim reaper had seen in his whole life. With a great force, the grim reaper grabbed Joong Heon by the neck.
“I know we've met before. . I had my suspicions 20 years ago, but now I’m certain that you are an evil spirit. You live off human’s deepest fears and evil hearts.”
“I just made them realise what they wanted deep down in their heart. It’s their desire, not mine.”
His black tongue found human’s when they had evil hearts, and whispered to them. The man who had run over Eun Tak’s mother, the boy who had stolen purses on his bike, the man who had cheated on his wife and had killed her; it was those evil hearts Joong Heon looked for, and it was those evil hearts Joong Heon used.
“Was it me who covered their eyes, or did they decide to close their eyes?”
“Stop the Q and A session and tell me your name.”
The grim reaper tried to push Joong Heon against the wall but clenched his teeth together when Joong Heon vanished into black smoke and appeared behind him. The evil spirit was more stronger than any other the grim reaper had ever seen, and he was taken back in surprise. When the grim reaper turned around, he could see Sunny busy working.
“Are you sure you want to know my name? Don’t you want to know your name first? I could tell you.”
Joong Heon’s black tongue hissed in amusement. The evil spirit’s eyes were glaring at Sunny with fury.
“I see you still hold something weak in your hands. Seeing you hold the precious thing in your hands tightly, I can assure you that it will die in this reincarnated life again.”
Did this evil spirit know him in his past life, the grim reaper stared at Joong Heon with a waver in his eyes. The missing soul smiled and vanished from the room, back outside. Moving from person to person, Joong Heon vanished again.

At Duk Hwa’s house, the Goblin was remembering past memories. His past was so ignorant and stupid, the Goblin couldn’t figure out what memories he should keep and what memories he should let go. Drinking beer with the grim reaper, congratulating Eun Tak’s Final Exam together, taking photos together, and the voice of the grim reaper telling him not to die.
But he could still remember the monarch ordering, execute him.
All of those days were the Goblin’s past days, and all of those things were messing up the Goblin’s mind. It had been a lifelong grudge, and it wasn’t a grudge the Goblin could let go of easily. There were dozens of names on the lanterns the Goblin wrote and flew into the sky, but for some reason the Goblin was hesitating. There was a useless friendship between the two, and the Goblin couldn’t do anything but sigh.
The Goblin was sitting there sadly, when Sunny came to find him. Sunny asked the Goblin if he had met with the grim reaper as he set down the tea on the table. She had not been able to answer the Goblin when he had asked if the grim reaper was Yeo, but this time, she wanted to answer truthfully.
“They are all past events. It has been 900 years. It has been over a lifetime…”
“It might be your past life, but I am still in that present life. I am still living my life. I have nowhere to hide and nowhere to run back too, so I have got no choice but to move forward. He killed you.”
“He didn’t kill me, he killed Sun Kim. He didn’t kill me, because I am Sunny. My life is this life.”
Even though she remembered everything as if she had lived like the Goblin, Sunny wanted to push everything aside. They were all past lives. But Sunny knew that the Goblin wouldn’t be able to push it aside like her.
“But brother, if you want to move forward… I am living another life, but my answer is still the same. Keep going, brother.”
Whether the tears that came down Sunny’s face were Sun’s tears or Sunny’s tears, the Goblin did not know, and that pained the Goblin.
“This time when I move forward to Yeo, I am going to reach him. The thing I will be giving Yeo is not my mercy.”
“Don’t worry about me, Shin. I’ll be happy in this life. Really.”
